| Planning your holiday;
Is one of the
more pleasurable tasks in life...If you can pay for it without
stretching the plastic too much ...all the better. We can give you
some great ideas for a fabulous holiday but you have to pay for it.
Read the tips below to get you started on the road to
saving for your 'Dream Holiday'
• Once you've decided on your dream holiday destination,
research to find out how much it will cost to get there. You can then
start shopping around for the best travel deals.
• Do your homework and calculate your accommodation, food, entertainment
and travel insurance costs in advance. Then double it. Most of us will
need contingency cash for emergency bar bills and souvenir shopping.
• Start saving ASAP. Set aside some money each month by arranging a direct
debit into a high-interest savings account.
• Look for ways to tighten your purse strings. Taking your own lunch to
work or cancelling your neglected gym membership can help to pinch
pennies.
• Stick a photograph of your holiday destination on your credit card so
that whenever you're tempted to flash the cash, you'll remember what your
hard work is for.
P.S. If you are a smoker and smoke 20 a day...now could
be a good time to quit and save around £35 per week!

Tip
from the webmaster! ( He's a tight *@>*<!) Save money towards your
holiday by only buying a newspaper on a Saturday - I get a FREE Metro
newspaper on the bus or train when travelling Monday to Friday. We get a
FREE local paper delivered once a week, with all the local news. And I
keep up with national and international news on my PC! This saves around a
fiver per week (£260 per year), which will go a long way towards tasting
the local brew! |
